NORTH CANTON, Ohio—Six weeks after leaving Stanley CSS, Tony Byerly was today named executive vice president of electronic security for Diebold. Byerly takes over for Bradley Stephenson, who retired from this role last November.

In his new role, Byerly will lead the company’s electronic security business across all markets. Most recently Byerly was president and COO at Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (CSS). He left that post in May.

Kevin Engelhardt, Diebold VP of operations who served as Interim VP of electronic security after Stephenson’s departure, will report to Byerly. Jeremy Brecher, VP security technology, and Jackie Grimm, VP security solutions, will also report to Byerly.

Byerly joined Stanley when Stanley acquired HSM in 2006.  He has also previously worked at ADT/Tyco International, Honeywell Security Monitoring (HSM), Ameritech, SBC Global Communications, SecurityLink and Cambridge Protection Industries.

In a prepared statement, Thomas W. Swidarski, Diebold president and CEO, said he was confident in Byerly’s abilities and said Diebold intends to leverage “the strength of our innovative integrated services model and our strong brand in the banking space and recent accomplishments within the electronic security environment.”
