A bit of controversy in Washington, D.C., as the director of the district's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency resigns amid an investigation of a former city council member for stealing city funds, according to a blog from the Washington Post.
Millicent D. West offered her resignation as a city council member is being investigated for stealing $350,000 in city funds. The Post's blog makes no mention of West's involvement in the investigation, or whether she's being investigated herself. In her resignation letter, West said: "Given the current distractions, I believe that this is the best decision for my family and the District."
