ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--The Boston Red Sox and Major League Baseball dispatched security teams to join the club for this week's three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays in response to a recent threat made against several players.
According to a report in the Boston Herald yesterday, the team recently received a note that targeted black and Latin players, citing at least two by name, in an envelope that looks to have been postmarked in Memphis, Tenn.
